What is greatness? Our world often looks at greatness through the lenses of fame and fortune and yet in the Scriptures we encounter a humiliated, crucified King. Throughout the Gospel of Matthew Jesus' disciples wrestled with Christ over the subject of greatness in the Kingdom of God. We will look at some of these encounters culminating in Jesus' meeting with the disciples the night before his death when John and James requested that they would be great, that they would be seated at the right and left hand of Jesus when he entered His Kingdom (Matt. 20:20-28). We find that Jesus' answer is still just as challenging now as it was to them then.
